| The Shores cemetery was a private burial ground for the family of Frank and Molly Shores and is located on land known to be where their young sons died. It is not known whether the first burial here was Henry or Herbert Shores, as both died in early childhood. There is a small daughter of Frank Shores buried here, also. Her name is unknown. Frank, his wife Molly, and a daughter Mittie, all died within a few weeks of each other from typhoid. Frank and Mittie are buried in the family plot, but Molly at the time of her death was on the north side of Rich Mountain having been taken there to be cared for during her illness. Molly is buried in the Sexton Cemetery near Rich Mountain. on the marker at her grave is Mollie Shores, died October 28, 1918, 46 years. There are five graves in the Shores Cemetery. |
