| Ralph A. Daniel who lives east of Wickes as of 6/16/1983 submitted the following information. His great grandfather, William Levi Daniel, gave the first parcel of land which started the Daniel Cemetery. William and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bradley Daniel came to Arkansas from Shelby County, Illinois. One day while he and his wife were walking in the field, William chose the spot on his land where he wanted to be buried. This wish was granted at his death in 1891. |
