Mr. George North homesteaded the land where this cemetery is now located.  He gave land to be used as a cemetery.

This information was given by the great granddaughter of George North, Almeda Miller Johnston.  Almeda also said that here grandfather and great grandfather Miller are buried in the Corinth Cemetery.  There are no tombstones or markers for their gravies.

Mr. Harvey Long., Sr., who is buried in this cemetery, made many cement markers and placed them by the unmarked graves, even though he did not know the names of the people buried her.  Although the graves cannot be identified, they can at least be found.  Thanks to Mr. Harvey Long's thoughtfulness and hard work.

Please visit the Polk County Library.  There is a genealogy section at the library.  Or, check www.FindaGrave.com as the Polk County Genealogy Society (Mary L Broderick)  is attempting to put all of this information on the FindAGrave site along with the Markers for the Graves.  It is a massive undertaking.
