From Mena follow Highway 8 East to Highway 375; turn onto Highway 375 and follow it to Shady.  At the fire station continue on for five and one-half miles east; turn south on an old Conservation Corp Road towards the Bard Springs Recreation Area; go over Nichols Mountain; cross Sugar Creek (a concrete bridge); go to the top of the hill to the first crossroad, turn left (east) and go between one-half and three-quarters of a mile; cross Sugar Creek again.  You have now reached the land that J. S. Aleshire homesteaded in the middle 1800's.

As of January 12, 1984, there were two big walnut trees growing near the old house place.  The two graves are located in an old field, across Sugar Creek, about one-fourth mile south of the old house place.
