You will need: Blank newsprint or your own towels and linens. Medium-Sized Boxes |
| o | Group small kitchen appliances. Appliances like blenders and toasters, hand-held vacuums and telephones. Put only two or three to a box. This is a great time to use your bath towels. Make certain they are clean before packing. |
| o | Make certain that the bottom of the box is securely taped. Pad the bottom of the box with blank newsprint (wadded up, not shredded) or with your towels and sheets. |
| o | Put appliances in and pad them well all around with packing material. |
| o | Then put another layer of packing material on top. Seal the box and mark it "Kitchen Appliances." |
| o | Important Note: Do not use plastic peanuts or shredded newsprint, which could get into the machines and cause damage. |
| o | Vision Tip for items that will remain stored: If you have items that will go in storage we have found that the "Sterite" containers that are available at discount stores keep the pests out. When packing these containers make certain that they are filled, the lids snapped on tightly and then use duct tape to double insure that the lid will remain securely fastened. Purchase the same size so they will stack neatly. Also buy peel and stick labels and label each side of the container. Then you can always see what is in the container in storage. Another plus to using Sterite containers for long terms storage is that if a leak should occur your items will remain dry, unless of course it's rising water that gets to the height of the lid area.) |
