![]() Sample the rich heritage of lie in the Ozark Mountains through music,
crafts, and dance at the Ozark Folk Center. During the
Center's season (first two weekends in April; daily April 19-November 3),
artisans demonstrate over 24 homestead skills and crafts in the Crafts
Village, a collection of demonstration shops, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
daily. Nearby the comfortable, climate-controlled Music Theater
hosts life entertainment at 7:30 p.m. six nights a week, plus Sunday
Gospel Concerts during season. Music is played as it was before 1941
with acoustic instruments.The Center's Homespun Gift Shop offers handcrafted treasures including pottery, shuck dolls, quilts, white oak baskets, toys, as well as tasty apple and peach chunky. Rocking chairs, ironwork and other heirloom quality products are also available for sale from the artisans in the craft shops. Enjoy comfortable accommodations in the 60-room Dry Creek Lodge and delicious meals in the scenic, full-service Skillet Restaurant, or try the Smokehouse or Confectionery. Visit the Heritage Herb gardens. And enjoy the free tram service within the 80-acre complex. The Center offers conference and meeting facilities for groups up to 1,000 and specializes in business retreats and family reunions. Package plans are available. Special music shows, contests, workshops, and craft exhibitions are held throughout the year. Festivals highlight the spring and fall seasons.
